Head of House: Anne Carney
Anne grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., graduated from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and received her bachelor's degree from Brown University. After her undergraduate years, she was an AmeriCorps member in San Francisco, California and later worked for a small health care consulting firm for several years. She moved to Boston in 2004 to obtain a master's in speech and language pathology from Boston University and works in the area of aphasia.
Anne enjoys cooking, reading, yoga and hiking and traveling with her family. She and John have been heads of house at the Warehouse since July 2010.
Head of House: John Ochsendorf
John grew up in a large family in Elkins, West Virginia, and joined the MIT faculty in July of 2002. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Cornell University, his master's from Princeton University and his PhD from Cambridge University, all in structural engineering. At MIT, he holds a joint appointment as Professor between the departments of Architecture and Civil and Environmental Engineering. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, and is active in a variety of committees across the Institute.
John is an avid soccer player, and enjoys hiking, cycling, and camping with his family. He has lived in Australia, England, Spain, and Italy, and loves traveling to new places. He and Anne have been heads of house at the Warehouse since July 2010.
