Clauda and Dave have been Warehouse Heads of House since August 2017.
Claudia grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from James Madison College of Michigan State University and obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit School of Law. In 2023 she pivoted away from the legal field and joined MIT’s Scheller Teacher Education Program/The Education Arcade lab as an administrative assistant in the Department of Comparative Media Studies/Writing.
Claudia enjoys traveling, cooking, and enthusiastically rooting for the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Dave also grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, but did not meet Claudia until graduate school. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, and his Master’s and PhD from MIT. He joined the MIT faculty in 1998. In February of 2025, Dave accepted the position of Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate and Graduate Education. His research interests include computational fluid dynamics; aerodynamics; and, improving engineering education. He has taught a variety of courses in fluid dynamics and numerical methods at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Dave enjoys playing music (piano, mandolin, guitar, and singing), cooking, jogging, hiking, fishing, and sailing. And, he is also a huge New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan!
Dave and Claudia have two daughters, both currently living in New York City. Madison graduated from MIT in 2019 and completed her doctorate in 2024 at the Tri-Institutional PhD Program in Computational Biology and Medicine. Abigail graduated from the University of Michigan in 2020 in computer science.
They also have a five year old German Short-haired Pointer, Cooper, who enjoys playing fetch, watching birds and bunnies, and going for canoe rides.
